Senior Group Business Controller - Sales (m/f/d)

Rosenheim, Deutschland
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

As Senior Group Business Controller – Sales (m/f/d), you are responsible for the commercial management logic of the entire group – across country borders, companies and an organically grown, heterogeneous process and system landscape. In this role, you report to the Head of Group Controlling and work closely with the CSO and CFO.
Your mission: to redefine commercial controlling at group level, create transparency across the entire commercial value chain and, as the central business owner, turn the group-wide HubSpot roll-out into a genuine management instrument.

Management & Analysis
  • Across the entire lead-to-order and order-to-cash process, you make all relevant management metrics measurable and transparent.
  • Revenue, volume and margin developments are analyzed by you continuously, making the key value drivers of the group visible.
  • Central commercial metrics – in particular DSO – are managed and monitored by you on your own responsibility.
Contribution Margins & Profitability
  • At customer, product, project and tender level, you develop a clear picture of contribution margins as the foundation for data-based sales and pricing decisions.
  • Patterns in the margin structure are identified by you systematically, and from these you derive concrete recommendations for action.
  • The profitability of tenders, projects and framework agreements is assessed by you with sound expertise; the controlling of our major projects lies firmly in your hands.
Planning, Forecasting & Business Cases
  • On the basis of CRM, ERP and financial data, you build integrated forecast models and deliver reliable projections for order intake, revenue, margins and demand planning.
  • With scenario analyses and business cases, you provide the sales strategy with a solid decision-making foundation.
  • In budget planning, you contribute actively and accompany monthly variance analyses as well as performance reviews.
Systems, Data & Digitalization
  • As the central business owner, you actively drive the group-wide HubSpot implementation forward – away from a pure database and towards a management instrument for pipeline management, forecasting and demand planning.
  • Across an internationally heterogeneous process and system landscape, you harmonize sales metrics, reporting structures and data models – centrally defined, decentrally implemented.
  • KPI dashboards and reports are continuously further developed by you and prepared in a target-group-appropriate manner.
Business Partnering
  • As a sparring partner for sales, finance, operations and group management, you drive data-based decisions that sustainably improve profitability.
  • In market and competitive analyses, you contribute in a targeted manner and provide impulses for the strategic direction of the sales organization.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced controlling personality with strong methodological and process expertise.

Experience & Background
  • You bring at least five years of relevant experience in commercial or sales controlling – in an international, industrial environment, e.g. infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or automotive.
  • Experience in decentralized, inorganically grown structures with a fragmented process and system landscape distinguishes you – as does the ability to establish standards there without disciplinary authority.
  • You bring cold-start capability: you quickly gain a reliable overview, identify the key areas for action and translate these – prioritized and in alignment with stakeholders – into concrete solutions. A background in a PE or family office environment is a clear plus.
  • Experience in other controlling areas – such as operations, project or financial controlling – is explicitly welcome.
Professional Competencies
  • Strong methodological and process expertise is part of your profile: KPI frameworks, planning and forecasting methods, structured analysis and decision preparation.
  • A deep understanding of processes along lead-to-order and order-to-cash is a firmly established part of your background.
  • Experience in leading or substantially managing international CRM roll-outs – ideally HubSpot – has already been gained by you.
  • Sound experience in ERP consolidation, group-wide reporting setup, master data management as well as sales and pricing analytics distinguishes you.
  • You work confidently with Excel and BI tools such as Power BI; ERP experience, e.g. SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, is an advantage.
  • A basic understanding of accounting, financial statement preparation in accordance with HGB as well as cost center and cost unit accounting rounds off your professional profile.
  • German and English are commanded by you at a minimum C1 level, both spoken and written.
Personality
  • Standards are established by you through professional conviction – not through hierarchy.
  • You bring together the differing interests of international country subsidiaries and develop viable solutions that you subsequently implement with consistency.
  • Analytical excellence is combined by you with pragmatism and the ability to reduce complexity to management-ready decision-making foundations.
  • Intercultural collaboration is something you enjoy, and you are willing to travel within Europe.
