Senior Group Business Controller - Operations (m/f/d)

Rosenheim, Deutschland
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

As Senior Group Business Controller – Operations (m/f/d), you are responsible for the operational management logic of the entire group – across locations, countries and an organically grown, fragmented process and system landscape. In this role, you report to the Head of Group Controlling and work closely with the COO and CFO.
Your mission: to further develop a heterogeneous management landscape into a reliable, group-wide comparable controlling logic and to elevate the operational value chain from plan-to-product through demand-to-supply to purchase-to-pay to a new level of management quality.

Management & Analysis
  • Operational KPIs – in particular relating to productivity, OEE, costs and delivery reliability – are defined, monitored and analyzed by you on your own responsibility, and from these you derive well-founded recommendations for action.
  • In product and project cost calculation, you create transparency regarding the key cost drivers of the operational value chain.
  • Reports and actual-vs-plan comparisons are prepared by you in a target-group-appropriate and comprehensible manner.
Design & Harmonization
  • Across multiple locations and countries, you further develop inconsistent systems, processes and metrics into a reliable, group-wide comparable management logic – centrally defined, decentrally implemented and anchored together with the production companies.
  • Group-wide standards for plan-to-product, demand-to-supply and purchase-to-pay are established by you on a sustainable basis.
  • The management of key working capital metrics such as DIH and DPO lies firmly in your hands on your own responsibility.
Planning, Forecasting & Business Cases
  • Profitability and investment analyses (CapEx) as well as business cases are managed by you independently – from the initial idea through to the decision paper.
  • In production, capacity and cost planning as well as forecasting for operations and supply chain functions, you contribute actively.
  • Operational efficiency programs are accompanied by you with commitment, and you ensure their sustainable implementation.
Systems, Data & Digitalization
  • Across an internationally heterogeneous process and system landscape, you harmonize operational metrics and reporting structures – centrally defined, decentrally implemented.
  • The further development of controlling tools, dashboards and data processes is actively driven forward by you, shaping a modern, digital controlling landscape.
Business Partnering
  • As a sparring partner for plant management and operations functions, you accompany key management processes at eye level and contribute reliably as a competent point of contact.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced controlling personality with strong methodological and process expertise.

Experience & Background
  • You bring at least five years of relevant experience in operations or production controlling – in an international, industrial environment, e.g. infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or automotive.
  • Experience in internationally positioned, decentralized and inorganically grown structures with a fragmented process and system landscape distinguishes you – as does the ability to establish standards there without disciplinary authority.
  • You bring cold-start capability: you quickly gain a reliable overview, identify the key areas for action and translate these – prioritized and in alignment with stakeholders – into concrete solutions. A background in a PE or family office environment is a clear plus.
  • Experience in other controlling areas – such as commercial, project or financial controlling – is explicitly welcome.
Professional Competencies
  • Strong methodological and process expertise is part of your profile: KPI frameworks, planning and forecasting methods, structured analysis and decision preparation.
  • A deep understanding of processes along plan-to-product, demand-to-supply and purchase-to-pay is equally part of your background.
  • Practical experience in product and project cost calculation as well as in the management of DIH and DPO has been demonstrably gained by you.
  • Proven involvement in the further development or redesign of controlling processes and KPI systems is part of your track record.
  • You work confidently with Excel; ERP experience, e.g. SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, as well as analytics tools such as Power BI are an advantage.
  • A basic understanding of accounting, financial statement preparation in accordance with HGB as well as cost center and cost unit accounting rounds off your professional profile.
  • German and English are commanded by you at a minimum C1 level, both spoken and written.
Personality
  • Standards are established by you through professional conviction – not through hierarchy.
  • You bring together the differing interests of international production companies and develop viable solutions that you subsequently implement with consistency.
  • Analytical excellence is combined by you with pragmatism and the ability to reduce complexity to management-ready decision-making foundations.
  • Intercultural collaboration is something you enjoy, and you are willing to travel within Europe.
