Your mission

As Senior Group Financial Controller / Finance and Investment Controller (m/f/d), you take on a central role in the financial management of the group. In this position, you report to the Head of Financial Group Controlling & Analytics and work closely with the CFO, Group Accounting as well as the key subsidiaries both domestically and internationally.
Your mission: to further develop the financial management of the group and to create a reliable data foundation for management reporting and sound business decisions.

Management & Analysis
  • You actively contribute to the preparation of the monthly management reporting and analyze variances in P&L, balance sheet and cash flow in a structured and audience-appropriate manner.
  • Transparency regarding the financial development of the group and its companies as well as the key economic drivers is created by you reliably.
  • Cost, result, liquidity and working capital developments are analyzed by you continuously, and from these you derive well-founded recommendations for action.
  • Independently, you conduct special business analyses and prepare complex matters in a clear and management-ready format.
Investments, Performance & Management Logic
  • You contribute to presenting the financial development of the investments in a reliable and manageable way.
  • Transparency regarding performance, risks, variances and areas for action at the level of the group companies is created by you in a structured manner.
  • The preparation and facilitation of the monthly performance reviews with the group companies is a central component of your role.
  • In doing so, you contextualize financial developments in an audience-appropriate manner and support the derivation of effective measures.
Planning, Forecasting & Business Steering
  • You actively contribute to intra-year forecasts, the annual budget process as well as mid-term planning.
  • Through sound actual-vs-plan comparisons, scenario analyses and reliable commentary on key variances, you support the financial management of the group.
  • You actively shape the structuring, introduction and application of cost accounting logic – in particular cost center and cost unit accounting alongside driver-based variance analysis.
  • You are responsible for the group's investment controlling with regard to CapEx developments, ROI and optimal capital allocation, and you prepare and evaluate business cases as the basis for sound investment decisions.
Standardization, Data Quality & Interfaces
  • A group-wide consistent application of reporting, KPI and management logic is actively promoted by you.
  • Together with Group Accounting, you ensure that accounting and controlling processes at holding level are properly integrated and that high data quality for management reporting is guaranteed.
  • Actively, you contribute to the standardization of reporting formats, metrics and financial management processes.
  • In addition, you support a reliable representation of intercompany processes and intercompany allocations within the group context.
Systems, Tools & Further Development
  • Into the further development of the reporting landscape, KPI systems and the controlling tools in use, you actively contribute.
  • Group-wide strategy and optimization projects are actively supported by you, and you assist the PMO with sound analyses, management impulses and financial decision-making foundations.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced financial controlling personality with strong analytical, process and system expertise, who not only maps financial management but actively develops it further at group level.

Experience & Background
  • You bring several years of relevant professional experience in financial controlling – ideally in an international company with multiple entities or in a comparable group structure.
  • A degree with a focus on controlling, finance or a comparable qualification has been successfully completed by you.
  • In working with P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, you are confident and well familiar with the requirements of reliable group-level financial management.
  • Ideally, you have already gained experience in preparing company planning at entity and group level.
  • The ability to quickly gain a reliable overview, identify key areas for action and translate topics into structured implementation is what sets you apart.
Professional Competencies
  • A deep understanding of financial controlling, management reporting, variance analysis as well as planning, forecasting and management processes is part of your profile.
  • Sound knowledge in cost accounting, in particular cost center and cost unit accounting, is a firmly established part of your background.
  • A fundamental understanding of intercompany processes, intercompany allocations and their impact on reporting and financial management is something you bring to the role.
  • LucaNet experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • With common ERP systems you are well familiar, e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Navision or comparable systems.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is a clear advantage.
  • A sound understanding of B2B business models – ideally with a connection to infrastructure, energy or industrial manufacturing – rounds off your professional profile.
  • German and English are commanded by you at a minimum C1 level, both spoken and written.
Personality
  • Proactive, self-responsible and with a high standard for the quality of your results – this is how you would describe your way of working.
  • Analytical thinking is combined by you with a clear solution orientation and the ability to present complex matters in a management-ready format.
  • Standards are established through professional conviction – not through hierarchy.
  • Intercultural collaboration is something you enjoy, and you are occasionally willing to travel to our locations across Europe.
